Why Nutrition is so important
So you want to lose weight, your going to the gym regularly and exercising but still not losing the weight. Have you changed your diet and i don't mean going on a fad diet. Healthy eating is 80 % of a weight loss success . Its no use going to the gym working out till you have nothing left to give and then on way home go through the drive through. All that hard work has just been wasted.
Eating a healthy balanced diet with a rainbow of fruit and vegetables and a wide selection of whole grains and fresh lean meat and staying hydrated is the best way to lose weight.
Here are some ideas to include in your daily routine.
1. Start the day with a glass of warm water with a squeeze of lemon to kick start your digestion for the day.
2. Ensure you have breakfast everyday. you have fasted all night and your body needs fuel. Include protein in your breakfast and fibre to help you to keep fuller for longer
3. Have a selection of healthy snacks available to keep you from snacking on junk.
4. At lunch ensure you have a serving of salad or vegetables and serving of protein
5. Eat often but small to keep blood sugar levels constant . Eat every 2.5 to 3 hours.
6. Drink at least 2 litres of water per day.
7. Cook more. It helps you save money, you can control your meal sizes and what goes into your meals.
8 Eat dinner with your Television switched off so you are not mindlessly eating.
9. For dinner have lean protein a healthy carbohydrate choice and plenty of salad or vegetables.
10. Chew your food. each mouthful at least 20 times. Chewing your food helps release digestive enzymes into your gut to help digest your food so you can absorb the nutrition its providing.
